How to find work you love

People who found work they love — work they were meant to do — all had one thing in common. They each had their own question.

  • Why does violence exist in the world?
  • How do people overcome the fear of failure?
  • Why do certain spaces make us more creative?
  • Why does a walk make me feel at peace?
  • Why does my son always look so sad?

They believed that question was worth betting their life on.
One became a scholar who dedicated their life to understanding human violence to prevent war. Another became an expert helping people rise again after failure. One designed buildings where anyone who walks in feels the urge to create. A mother started with her son's sadness and built a program that now cares for children's emotions around the world. Another became a creator walking through cities and countryside, telling people's stories.

Most people have that question too. They just walk past it. It doesn't seem to pay well. It doesn't feel stable enough. So they let it go.

But that question might be the most valuable thing you have. The thing that makes you shine.
